Cape Raoul

On Saturday the 3rd of March Darren and I went back to Port Arthur and did the Cape Raoul walk. Unfortunately for Derek he had returned to the mainland and did not get to do this walk with us.

The walk itself was quite different. Lots of the track were done as zig zag climbing and descent rather than steps and rocks. I found it easier than Cape Hauy but it was a longer walk. This one took about 4.5 hours. Much of the track was through tall gum tree forests whereas Cape Hauy was quite exposed.

It was beautiful and spectacular just as Cape Hauy was.

There was a large seal colony at the base of the cliffs.

Then there was the walk back. This view looks at the climb we had to make. Why do we do it? It was worth it though.
