Swansea

The next day, Wednesday the 21st Feb,  Kay and Derek headed off to check out the Tamar Valley and wineries which were up north and then head to the east coast around the Bay of Fires and head south. Rather than try and keep up with them we planned to head direct to the east coast, to Swansea and get some washing done and let K & D catch up to us.

So after the briefest of looks at Launceston we hitched up and drove to the caravan park at Swansea. The van park had the beach out the back and looked across to the Freycinet National Park.

That night we had a nice sunset and did a small roast on the baby webber. I love using the BBQ as it gets me outside.

The next day, after getting the washing done the previous night and in the morning we drove up to the town and parked, and did some shopping. Swansea is a lovely little town right on the water.

We also went for a walk around the headland. At the start of the walk there is a board that tells of a shipwreck nearby where a husband and wife lost all their six children. Incredible.
