Scottsdale, Ledgerwood and Lilydale Falls

On Tuesday the 27th March we did a day drive out as far as Derby. On the way we came to a beautiful lookout at the top of the pass leading to Scottsdale. Unfortunately the weather was a bit dodgy again so the photo is hazy.

Scottsdale is a pretty town and has wood carvings like we saw in Campbell Town. We drove on to Ledgerwood where they have done wood carvings in a bigger way. The story of that one was more interesting. There were seven members of the town who were killed in WW1 and trees were planted in their honour. The trees became diseased and could not remain as they were. The townspeople could not bear to see the trees gone so they got this fellow to do carvings to honour the diggers. It is a great tribute.

We drove on to Derby. The town is known for amazing BMX bike tracks. We then backtracked to Scottsdale and drove on to Bridport. It is a very nice town on the north coast on Bass Straight.

On the trip home we took a different road home through Lilydale. We had a look at Lilydale Falls.
