The Great Lake & Liffey Falls

On Thursday the 29th March, the weather was a bit improved so we headed to the Great Lake. We drove up Poatina Pass. More hilly and windy roads. I won’t be sorry to get back to straight boring roads, let me tell you. I am just glad we did not have the caravan on the back.

We drove on to Miena where we hit the Great Lake. This is one case where the photos do more justice than the place deserves. Maybe if it wasn’t blowing a gale I might feel a bit differently. It was nicer further around the lake.

On the way up the hill as we were leaving the lake we got a nicer view. There was a coffee cart there and the guy was an ex policeman from NSW who was retired and enjoying life in Tazzie.

Then there were spectacular views coming down the pass enroute to Deloraine.

We then dropped in to see the beautiful Liffey Falls. Linda was really over falls by this time but she liked these falls.

There was this guy who was fly fishing in the middle of the falls. He was keen I thought.

The rainforests in Tazzie are stunning.
